What is the prefilled syringe?
A prefilled syringe is a syringe that has already been loaded with a drug. Many of the drugs to be injected are kept in ampules or vials. They are first dissolved in a solution and sucked up into the syringe for injection. Sometimes another drug may be blended. The prefilled syringes not only make hospital services efficient, but are also useful in reducing the risk of bacterial contamination during mixed injection work and preventing drug mix-ups.
