Teikoku Seiyaku and Terumo reach basic agreement
toward comprehensive business partnership of medical narcotic drugs
in the cancer pain control domain

Teikoku Seiyaku Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Higashikagawa City, Kagawa Prefecture; President & CEO: Shosaku Murayama; hereinafter, “Teikoku Seiyaku”) and Terumo Corporation (Head Office: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; President: Akira Takahashi; hereinafter, “Terumo”) announced they have reached an agreement to enter into a comprehensive partnership for the development, manufacture and sale of medical narcotic drugs to alleviate the pain of cancer in the Japanese market.
Teikoku Seiyaku, a leading manufacturer of analgesic and anti-inflammatory poultices and plasters, positions “Applications of transdermal absorption technology” and “pain-relief” as their focuses of product development and has promoted such business operations as development and manufacture of narcotic drugs.
With its vision of “Terumo’s unique technology makes medical treatment kinder and gentler,” Terumo has made efforts to offer products and services from the viewpoint of patients. As part of its operations based on this vision, the company decided to fully enter the cancer pain relief domain and be a partner of Teikoku Seiyaku. Terumo also plans to strengthen its own business development toward easing the pain of patients.
