Wrist blood pressure gauge for easy measurement
Terumo Electronic Blood Pressure Gauge P401 is put on sale.

Terumo Corporation (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President: Takashi Wachi) will release the "Terumo Electronic Blood Pressure Gauge P401" on December 15th. The new type of gauge, with which users can measure their blood pressure easily at the wrist, will be available at pharmacies and mass-volume home electronics stores across Japan.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 13,500 yen. We aim to sell 100,000 units in the initial year after release.

The new product "Terumo Electronic Blood Pressure Gauge P401" features a large liquid crystal display where the results are shown. Also the "Pair Memory" function, which stores seven measurement results for two people allows two members of the family to cooperate in blood pressure control.

Terumo has been offering upper-arm blood pressure cuffs, similar to the ones used in hospitals, and the products have been widely used. This time, in accordance with users' requests for an easier-to-use device that can be used even at work or during traveling, we are going to release a wrist blood pressure gauge. We will offer both upper-arm and wrist types to better meet our customers' needs.
