Terumo First Establishes Information Service Site for Medical Staff in Japanese Medical Instrument Manufactures

On October 2, 2000, Tokyo based Terumo Corporation will first establish an information service site for medical staff, such as doctors and nurses in Japanese medical instrument manufactures.

This site is located on the "My Medipro" site only for medical staff provided by So-net , because in Japan information on medical equipment and pharmaceuticals is regulated by the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law.

Information such as usage and precautions on medical equipment and pharmaceuticals are regarded as vital for safety. Therefore Terumo is establishing an environment on the Internet which medical staffs can obtain information whenever they need it. Terumo aims at more improved services as the leading company of medical equipment.

1. Information search function
   Information on about 2600 products including medical equipment and pharmaceuticals can be searched based on product name, general product name, product code, and medical field.
2. Specialized information section on products and medical care
   More specialized information such as case photographs, documentation, and administrative information on products is also provided. In future, another contents will be added.

So-net's Medipro is Japan's the largest site dedicated to medical information.
