Terumeal Soft high-calorie nutritional food supplement
Tokyo-based Terumo Corporation (president: Takashi Wachi) has introduced Terumeal Soft, a new high-calorie nutritional food product, available throughout Japan from September 1, 1998.
The product, which comes in a creamy, semi-solid form, makes an ideal nutritional supplement for individuals unable to eat a fully balanced diet. It is packaged in a soft aluminum foil "cheer" pack, allowing easy consumption while in bed.
Terumeal Soft has a suggested manufacturer's retail price of \7,200 for 24?~200g packages. In addition to sales to hospitals, homes for the elderly, and other institutions, it is also available via home delivery. Sales for the first year are targeted at \500 million.
Product Features
- High caloric content
A single 200g pack (approximately 1.5 cups) provides 300kcal of energy, as well five essential types of nutrients: carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, and minerals. Even patients with little appetite can thus easily meet their nutritional requirements.

The creamy texture and slightly tart, fresh flavor make Terumeal Soft easy and appealing to eat.
